Bounded by Ripley Ave to the west and the north, the railroad tracks east of Inglewood ave to the east and 190th St to the south, the El Nido area (named after a local park) is made up primarily of small single family homes built in the postwar period of 1948 – 1965. Full lots run 50×100 ft with some being 150 ft deep.

Schools are Birney and Washington Elementary Schools, Adams Middle School and Redondo Union High School.
