The Palos Verdes Drive East portion of the hill is mostly Rancho Palos Verdes, though there are a few homes that are still within Rolling Hills Estates borders. These homes frequently have spectacular views and large but steep lots — often it is not possible to see the bottom of the lot from the top. Therefore, it is important to check how much of the lot is flat and stable before purchasing in this area. There are some ocean view lots, but this will be of the Los Angeles Long Beach Harbor — some people don’t like the industrial parts of this view, while others find it both fascinating and also very pretty at night with all the lights on the Long Beach Harbor. Off the other side of the PV Drive East area are homes with views oriented towards the North and the fantastic city lights of the South Bay laid out below.
A very winding, curving trip is necessary to get “down the hill” from this area, making the commute not great for some. For those going to Long Beach or to downtown, it can still be do-able by taking Western Avenue to the Harbor Freeway to go either downtown or across the Vincent Thomas bridge into Long Beach.
Schools are Palos Verdes Unified, of course.
