This part of Rancho Palos Verdes was among the last to be annexed into the city borders. It is the area directly to the West of the San Pedro portion of Los Angeles City. Because of this recent annexation, much of the area has the option to attend either Los Angeles Unified or Palos Verdes Unified schools. Of course, because the PVUSD schools are generally significantly better, most people choose the PV Unified School District option in this area. Many of the homes are in winding roads off of Western Avenue and many have views as they are in a fairly steep portion of the topography. The prices are less than the rest of RPV or Palos Verdes because of the proxmity of San Pedro and its somewhat rougher neighborhoods.
