The most spread out of the four major cities of the Palos Verdes Peninsula, Rancho Palos Verdes is commonly nicknamed either just “Rancho” or “RPV” by the locals
As shown on the map at the right, RPV spreads across most of the “back side” of the hill, and has many areas with ocean views, many with views of the Los Angeles/Long Beach harbor area including the Vincent Harbor bridge and the Queen Mary
The area is very hilly and full of small canyons, so many lots may appear large on paper but may not have much flat useable area. Lot sizes range from 4300 to 53,000 square feet
Recent sales range from $800,000 to $7 M — big views and big lots significantly drive prices
Some portions, especially on the east side near Rolling Hills and Rolling HIlls Estates are zoned for horses
